Message i've logged 89 miles on it so far (one evening of driving around) and am already very happy with the build.

for those that missed my previous posts, i rebuilt the engine myself last winter with a JDM block and put 13k on it since, but just wasn't happy with how it sounded and ran. it was my first 6-cyl engine build and despite a lot of help from friends, shops, Dad, etc there were a few things that i just didn't have the time/tools/knowledge to do last year and the state of things bothered me. i'm rather annoyed/embarassed now at some of the things i should have done or done better... ugh. but such is life.

i found a local shop (Z Sport in Everett, WA) and spent some time in discussion with them before finally opting to turn my keys over for another full engine build. This time, with Wiseco 87.5mm pistons, a brand new EFI harness, of course the full gasket and hose kits, and a lot of work from their in-house machine shop.

i'm obviously still heavy in the break-in period so i don't know what it will really do, but i'm already very happy with how it runs. any rumors of excessive noise and/or piston slap from the Wiseco's have been completely quelled; my motor purrs happily even when cold. it is barely audible with the hood closed, and all you hear at 3000 rpm is the turbos starting to spool and a hearty exhaust note from the greddy's. it's awe-inspiring. :)

huge thanx to SPL, Coz, SGP, and Z1 for the good deals and overnighted parts and to Z Sport and Powdercoating Inc for the quality work and putting up with my neurotic micro-management.

i'll wash it on sunday and get pics with the new rims/tires. i'll try to get the jspec tails on for the pics too - no, Bernie, i still haven't gotten it done ;) - and of course the shiny engine bay, too.

anyway, i just needed to spread some joy... fellow garage queen owners, hang in there! the rewards are sweet. :)
